Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a BIM Manager to support our facilities and pipeline teams in CO and CA.

This position will be based in our Denver, CO office with virtual work and travel as needed to facilitate smooth project delivery. The BIM manager will help develop, lead, implement, and support the use of digital technology to create BIM design products for our facilities and pipeline teams in the water sector. The overall goal is to help our team leave 2D behind and adopt 3D modeling as our default process. This includes embracing 3D photorealistic renderings and immersive VR experiences as part of the pursuit and design delivery processes when applicable.

The BIM Manager will implement all the procedures in BIM and Digital Construction during the design, construction, and handover of a project. They will take all the necessary factors for project implementation and completion, categorize them, and use them to turn the BIM environment into a productive and collaborative one. They will help define a BIM strategy, implement systems for communication and data exchange, ensure seamless collaboration, possibly manage people and resources, monitor the process for potential improvements, and implement enabling tools for designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining a facility.

Responsibilities
    Creating 3D and 4D models (sometimes all the way to 8D) to provide a helping hand to project planners.
  • Assisting estimators and quantity surveyors.
  • Creating 3D logistics plans.
  • Helping engineers create designs with the help of 3D concept imagery.
  • Creating Visual Method Statements to provide a brief of risk assessment to the necessary parties.
  • Processing all the information in the cloud and extracting the necessary dimensions.
  • Creating Employers Information Requirements (EIRs), which is a document outlining the client's needs, so that every team member knows what they need to do.
  • Using an EIR document to create a BIM Execution Plan (BEP), which outlines how the client's requirements will be met.
  • Monitoring the performance of an entire supply chain to ensure effectiveness and provide additional training when necessary.
  • Storing and integrating the necessary asset data.
  • Setting up and managing a CDE (common data environment) and aligning the BIM workflows.
  • Creating a digital library of standards, details, other common design elements to improve design production quality and efficiency.

Management Responsibilities

  • Working with the business leadership and professional staff to execute work and assist in the growth of the regional public sector water business and client base.
  • Work in a team environment to execute work with other project engineers, support, and junior staff, and subconsultants.
  • Working directly with our local design team to leverage their extensive design knowledge and include data capture in the data library.
  • Coordinate with our national BIM and 3D design teams to also leverage their knowledge and design/modeling elements to potentially merge those with our local ones.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Experience in an AEC role (5-10 years' leadership experience).
  • Familiarity with the modelling process in BIM.
  • Water/Wastewater experience.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of quality and document management processes.

The projected range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
