As a Production Development Specialist, you will drive improvements in production of Electrification Smart Power (ELSP) in Senatobia, Mississippi. You will be responsible to optimize the production organization's processes, equipment and electrical testing methods to minimize labor hours in accordance with Lean 6Sigma methodology and business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs and safety.

Your responsibilities

  • Define the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.
  • Ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance and materials/components in support of production targets.
  • Support Production with product and system testing.
  • Prepare new test standards and completes test instruction documentation
  • Utilize Lean 6Sigma methodologies to identify and recommend improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality and cost requirements
  • Ensure the production process complies with the project targets.
  • Approve the design for processes developed internally or externally and perform final tests with respect to the project
  • Provide support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources
  • Evaluate new process technologies to improve productivity, quality and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria and external provider choices
Your background

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Industrial Engineering is strongly preferred OR Associate degree PLUS 3 years of technical based experience, preferably in electrical control systems manufacturing or maintenance
  • Knowledge of Lean principles
  • Knowledge of Automatic Transfer Switches is a plus
  • Programming knowledge a plus
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
