As a Production Engineering Specialist, you will drive improvements in production of specific products and systems in Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) in Selmer, Tennessee. You will optimize the Technical Services organization's Special Processes (Paint, Plating and Epoxy bed resin) and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety.

This position reports to

Maintenance Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Define the working phase sequence of a new production process (Paint, Electrical Plating or Epoxy resin bed) to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget
  • Ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets
  • Identify and recommend improvement opportunities and implement improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements
  • Ensure the production process comply with the project targets
  • Design for processes developed internally or externally and perform final tests with respect to the project
  • Provide support to Tech Services during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant to maintenance and production resources
  • Evaluate new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices
Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering along with 8+ years experience in design or manufacturing preferred, OR Associate's Degree and 10+ years in design or manufacturing. HS Diploma required.
  • Well versed in relevant software (e.g. AutoCad, MS Office)
  • Budget & Performance Management
  • Design experience
  • Powder Coating and/or knowledge of painting systems
  • Ability to translate design specifications into a vendor bid package
  • Ability to oversee the installation, commissioning and startup of process related equipment
  • Ability to write operational and maintenance procedures
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Project Management
  • Engineering & Manufacturing Processes
  • Supplier Relationship Management
