As a Wastewater Lift Station Service Technician, your main responsibilities will include:
  • Performing routine inspections and maintenance for privately-owned wastewater lift stations in Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico.
  • Applying plumbing and electrical expertise in the maintenance and repair of wastewater lift stations.
  • Utilizing company-provided mobile technology to document work activities.
  • Documenting and diagnosing non-routine service or repair needs and communicating observations to Apex's back-office team.
  • On-call rapid deployment to address lift station emergencies and prevent overflows and spills.
  • Coordinating with and supervising specialty subcontractors.
  • Growing and diversifying skills through employee-sponsored vocational training and education.
  • Strict adherence to and active participation in OSHA and company safety programs.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial plumbing, wastewater treatment/distribution, pump, and electrical maintenance.
  • 90% travel throughout Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico (all travel expenses paid or reimbursed by Apex).
  • Experience operating Mini-Excavators
  • Ability to troubleshoot pump, plumbing, and electrical issues.
  • GED or High School diploma.
  • Stable employment history with a strong safety record.
  • Clean driving and criminal record, ability to obtain security passes for military base access (DBIDS) and ports/railroads (TWIC).
  • Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds, work in confined spaces, and in inclement weather.
  • Team-player attitude and strong communication skills for both independent and team settings.
Professional/vocational accreditation/certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA Competent Person, OSHA 40-Hour HazWoper, Water Resources Control Board Drinking Water Treatment/Distribution). Veterans are encouraged to apply.
