Job Description Summary:UCAR is excited to announce the job opening for the Shuttle Driver (Casual).

This position is responsible for driving and maintaining passenger shuttle vans as part of UCAR Transportation Services program or as required by the Transportation Manager.

What You Will Do

Here is a brief summary of what one would expect to be generally responsible for in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drives passenger shuttle vans as directed by Transportation Manager.

  • Adheres to published shuttle schedules and routes.

  • Delivers mail and packages between UCAR sites as directed.

  • Maintains vehicles: Ensures that vehicles are safe, clean, and refueled.

  • Reports discrepancies, maintenance issues, and safety matters to the Transportation Manager.

  • Records passenger counts and ensures shuttle is used by UCAR/NCAR employees or official visitors only.

  • Acts as Transportation Representative for UCAR/NCAR Staff. Disseminates information and assists employees and official visitors in using the shuttle and other UCAR transportation programs.

  • Assists with GSA fleet maintenance program.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School diploma and 1-2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Possession of a valid Colorado driver's license.

  • Motor Vehicle Record that meets UCAR's acceptability requirements for driving on UCAR business under UCAR policy 4-5.

Preferred:

    • CDL

    Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

      • Physical ability to lift 30 lbs. and drive for prolonged periods.

      • Demonstrate a high degree of consistency and reliability in performing assigned tasks.

      • Possess excellent customer service skills.

      • Ability to read and comprehend required forms and regulations.

      • Skill at properly completing and maintaining records.

      • Ability to adhere to scheduled times and routes.

      • Ability to follow standard operating procedures.

      • Ability to quickly adapt to changing tasks and work assignments.

      • Skill at performing required assignments with minimal supervision with a very high degree of accuracy and professional demeanor
